Last Day of School and Early Dismissal for Winter Break - Thursday, December 20

Elementary Students will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m.

Secondary Students will be dismissed at 1:10 p.m.

The EMBDC recently awarded two students at Ross Collins with the Head of the Class Awards.

Congratulations to LaTondra Cole for the Highest Overall Achievement in Teacher Academy and Austin Lanier for Most Improved Student in Culinary Arts!

A Special Thanks to…

The Charles L. Young, Sr. Foundation for the $1,000 donation to the MHS Boys Basketball Team.

MPSD Board Member Michael VanVeckhoven Named Humanitarian of the Year by Junior Auxiliary

Mr. VanVeckhoven will be formally recognized during the JA Charity Ball on January 19th at 7:00 p.m. at the Riley Center.

Congratulations to Mr. VanVeckhoven on this amazing honor!

Donations to Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy Victims

T.J. Harris Elementary presented a check to the American Red Cross today in the amount of $386 to be used to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Poplar Springs Elementary also collected hats and gloves for school children in New York earlier this year.

Thanks to these students and teachers for their spirit of giving!

Poplar Spring Elementary Giving Feast

Wednesday, December 19 - 1:00 p.m.

PSE Auditorium

The PSE Family will celebrate the season of giving with the annual "Giving Feast" for Wesley House. During the month of December, students bring new toys and bikes which will be given to those in need through Wesley House Community Center. PSE students and teachers celebrate the spirit of giving through music, dance, and drama and at the conclusion of the program the curtain is opened allowing students to "see” the power of their giving.

The last day of school for students before Winter Break is Thursday, December 20, 2012. Students will return to school on Monday, January 7, 2013.
