Parkview Elementary's 'Biggest Loser Challenge' a Success!

In April, Parkview Elementary School decided to make health and wellness more of a priority, so they created the ‘Biggest Loser Challenge.’

Spearheaded by Parkview P.E. Coach Arthur Harris, twenty participants consisting of Parkview's faculty and staff including Principal Rosalind Operton joined this challenge.

To participate in the ‘Biggest Loser Challenge,’ each participant paid an initial $5.00 fee for his or her first weigh in and $2.00 each week following for a total of eight weeks.

Parkview is elated to announce that not only was a $322.00 money pot raised, but the overall weight loss of the participants was 131.7 lbs! Also, out of twenty participants, six lost ten or more pounds!

Parkview’s ‘Biggest Loser Challenge’ Overall Winner was Mrs. Sophia Evins. Mrs. Evins dropped a total of 17.6 lbs and won the pot of money. Congratulations Mrs. Evins!

Parkview would like the success of their ‘Biggest Loser Challenge’ to be motivation to take their vision further and begin a district-wide ‘Biggest Loser Challenge’ as a way to jumpstart becoming a healthier school district.

Great job Parkview Elementary, Coach Harris, and Mrs. Evins!
