The Meridian Public School District recently recognized seven full-time teachers for perfect attendance during the 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15 school years.

“I am very proud of these exceptional educators for going three years without missing a single day of work,” said MPSD Superintendent Dr. Alvin Taylor. “Their students could count on seeing them each and every day,and educators, like these seven individuals, are making it possible for the District to make the progress that we are making.”

The teachers were recognized at the most recent meeting of the MPSD Board of Trustees. MPSD teachers work 187 days each year, so perfect attendance for three years in a row means that the teachers did not miss one of the 561 days.

“These teachers are modeling for our students what strong work ethic and commitment to responsibility look like,” said Taylor.

The MPSD teachers with perfect attendance during the 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 school years are as follows:

Nell Barron, West Hills Elementary School

Jonathan Brown, Northwest Middle School

Rhonda Burrage, Magnolia Middle School

LaNelle Griffith, Poplar Springs Elementary School

Shirley Silliaman, Meridian High School

Kimberly Coley Wilkerson, Meridian High School
