MPSD Honors 2016 Retirees

The Meridian Public School District hosted the annual Retirement Reception on Thursday, May 12 in the Kahlmus Auditorium on the Meridian Campus of Mississippi State University to honor district personnel who are retiring after years of hard work and dedication to the students of Meridian.

“Over the years, these individuals have played an important role in the Meridian Public School District, and they have made a tremendous impact on the lives of so many students,” said MPSD Superintendent Dr. Alvin Taylor. “I want to personally thank them for their dedication and service.”

In all, the Meridian Public School District has 21 retirees that represent over 605 years of experience in education.

The 2016 retirees are: William Barnes, Jr., Carver Middle School; Nancy Chisolm, Ross Collins Career and Technical Center; Shirley Coleman, T.J. Harris Upper Elementary School; Jack Collins, Central Operations; David Covert, Carver Middle School; Vickie Davis, West Hills Elementary School; Willia M.J. Booker Donald, Carver Middle School; Deborah Ewing, Northwest Middle School; Donna Freyaldenhoven, Food Service Director; Shirley Gibbs-Hale, T.J. Harris Lower Elementary School; Rosie King, Northwest Middle School; Robin Miles, Assistant Superintendent; Dorothy Nelson, West Hills Elementary School; Michael Robertson, Transportation; Bernice Scott, Poplar Springs Elementary School; Leslie Snowden, T.J. Harris Upper Elementary School; Dr. Alvin Taylor, Superintendent; Patricia Teer, Carver Middle School; Johnny Valles, Meridian High School; Andrea Walker, Ross Collins Career and Technical Center; and Betty Williams, T.J. Harris Lower Elementary School.
