MPSD Summer Reading Lists

Summer is here, and we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity for students to continue exploring the world through reading!

Research tells us children who do not read during the summer may lose a month or more of the reading progress they made during the school year. Therefore, it is so important to keep children engaged in summer reading activities.

MHS Visual Art Students Create ‘Campus Pride’ Mural

Meridian High School Visual Arts students have recently created and installed another ‘Campus Pride’ art project at their school. This project was funded by an education grant from the Meridian Council for the Arts. The projects are designed to give students “real world” experience such as creating a large scale project, managing the project’s timeline, developing artistic skill, and increasing knowledge of their school and local history.

The most recent project to be installed was a mural designed by MHS Students Jamal Cole and Lori Lovette. Many other visual art students contributed to the painting of the project as well. To see the most recent ‘Campus Pride’ mural, click here.

Other ‘Campus Pride’ projects can be found in the Activities Building, History Department, English Department, and Cafeteria at MHS.
