MPSD Honors 2015 Retirees back button

The Meridian Public School District hosted the annual Retirement Reception on Tuesday, May 19 to honor district personnel that are retiring after years of hard work and dedication to the students of Meridian.

“Over the years, these individuals have played an important role in the Meridian Public School District, and they have made a tremendous impact on the lives of so many students,” said MPSD Superintendent Dr. Alvin Taylor. “I want to personally thank them for their dedication and service.”

The Retirement Reception was held in the Kahlmus Auditorium on the Meridian Campus of Mississippi State University.

In all, the Meridian Public School District has 22 retirees that represent over 605 years of experience in education.

The 2015 retirees are: Mildred Brown, Magnolia Middle School; Fern Buntyn, T.J. Harris Lower Elementary School; Bill Burkes, Meridian High School; Cindy Burt, Crestwood and Oakland Heights Elementary Schools; Michael Carlisle, Marion Park; Naomi Carson, Oakland Heights Elementary School; Dr. Myralynn Catchings, Meridian High School; Dorothy Clark, Crestwood Elementary School; Amy Davis, Meridian High School; Sally Gaddis, T.J. Harris Lower Elementary School; Beverly Gallion, Poplar Springs Elementary School; James Hampton, Transportation; Jamie Kelly, Poplar Springs Elementary School; Belinda Kerley, Ross Collins Career and Technical Center; Glenda Lightfoot, Crestwood Elementary School; Ray Matheny, T.J. Harris Upper Elementary School; Robbie McKee, District School Nurse; Alfredia Nathan, T.J. Harris Lower Elementary; Archie Scarbrough, Central Operations; Randy Sullivan, Transportation; Elizabeth Wilkinson, Parkview Elementary School; and Sherry Wolfe, Central Operations.
